As Eye See It: My Role as VSP Ambassador 

I became a VSP Ambassador at the beginning of 2023. Having been in private practice for more than thirty years, I liked the idea of working with other VSP network doctors to support the long-term success of the profession. 

As a VSP Ambassador, I act as a resource for doctors in my state of New Jersey, answering questions about VSP and relaying doctors’ feedback and concerns. I was drawn to this role mainly because I love to be involved and to learn, and VSP’s mission supports what I’m doing in my practice. In this role, I get to learn more and do more; to get the most out of VSP to bring back to my practice and share with the other Doctors of Optometry in the state. 

Now, when I attend state optometric meetings, people know to ask me any questions they have about VSP. If I don’t know the answer, I find out—and get to learn more in the process. Doctors appreciate having a peer they can easily talk to who will hear their questions and come back with answers. And, it’s beneficial to VSP to hear the questions and feedback doctors are sharing. It’s a win across the board.
