VSP Eyes of Hope® recently asked me to consult on-set for a video about their mission to help increase access to eye care and eyewear for people in need. Because Doctors of Optometry are central to the delivery of care, I was there to help ensure the doctor-patient interactions in key scenes were realistic and genuine.
I was delighted to participate—one, because it was exciting to be part of a production like this; and two, because I am so enthusiastic about VSP Eyes of Hope.
As Doctors of Optometry, we know the joy of helping people see their world better every day, whether in our practices or through community service. My hope for this video is that it invites everyone in to have a glimpse of the impact we can have together on our communities—whether it’s a child in financial need, a senior who struggles to get to the doctor’s office, or a family forced to evacuate quickly during a natural disaster.
Every time I’ve partnered with VSP Eyes of Hope, I’ve been inspired by the doctors who have volunteered alongside me and by our patients. I was honored to take part in telling their stories. I’m excited to share this video with you, and I hope it inspires you too.
